I explore themes relating to the nature of human memory - personal, ancestral and universal. I am interested in how these memories change the way we react to life's experiences and affect our hopes and dreams.
I am fascinated by the ways in which memories can be stored not only inside us but also in inanimate objects, the fabric of buildings or the landscape. Some objects and places seem to resonate with us and hold an intangible familiarity.
I use constructed, fused and cast glass in combination with a range of materials, primarily ceramic, to represent the apparent fragility of memory and the apparent certainty of the present.
