These cast glass pieces were made after visiting the ancient village of Chysaucester in South West Cornwall. I wanted to create works that reflected something of the ancient as well as the modern as a statement about time continuum or the relativity of time.
Using computer modelling and a CNC router a relief model was made from an ordinance survey map of the area, molds made, and the form was then cast in glass.
In the case of 'Chysauster' the forms were modified and set in jesmonite. Photographs taken at the site were altered in Photoshop and projected on a loop through the cast glass.
